Intertwined Roadmap


Hello all!

Long time no chat as I have been rather busy. Recently, a large number of people have been playing Intertwined and I was given a large amount of feedback regarding the game, and this is stuff I take very seriously as Intertwined is important to me and its development is something that I want to make sure I give the utmost care and precision. The most common complaint I have received within Intertwined is the lack of focus upon character development in the beginning parts of the game. I have to agree with the fact that the start of Intertwined has lacked the focus it needs to enter into the next stage of the game, which is Act 2, which will begin with Chapter 4 coming out at the end of May. This forced me to take a good long look at the beginning of the game and I have noticed a disturbing number of issues that really bother me about the game and that I dislike. Things like this are bound to happen and this is part of why Intertwined is in Alpha.

So, what does that mean for the game exactly?

The answer to this is simple. Intertwined needs to be refocused in the beginning to bring it back in line with what the focus of the game needs to be. This does not mean I am scrapping it or anything. On the contrary, the flow of the story is right where I want it to be, but the execution was very poor. With that said, after the 1.13 update, I am going to take a month or two or longer if it needs that to re-shape the first act of the game. This will all be done in one update, and I have already begun on it so it shouldn't take too terribly long. To spell this out simply, I will be taking the first three chapters back to the drawing board. I am going to remove any un-necessary and useless scenes that do not contribute to the characters or the story. I am going to bring the quality of writing up to where Chapter 2 and Chapter 3 are in terms of descriptions. I will be fixing various programming bugs and removing useless mini-game esque things that I feel are not a good fit for the game and do a complete overhaul of the Star-Chart to assist with better helping you find hidden collection items such as traces and devotion points.

THE MAIN STORY AND EVERYTHING YOU KNOW ABOUT INTERTWINED WILL NOT CHANGE!

The story of Intertwined is still where it needs to be, but this is to help bring everything in line with ease of readability and allowing those who are new to the story to process it easily as Intertwined is by no means a quick read. Act I ended with the end of Chapter 3. This is one of five acts that exist and before I can dive into the next act with a whole new slew of craziness, I must make sure to bring the previous act to where it needs to be for you, the readers.

I know in the past Intertwined has gone through a full re-write when it changed from 0.07 to 1.00. This is NOT the same as what happened during that time because the whole story was re-written and that is not the case here. New scenes will be added and old scenes will be removed, but the same major events will play out in the same manner. A restart of a save file will be recommended but not required. This is because of devotion point changes and some variable adjustments. 

As per always, I love hearing any and all feedback from you, the readers, regarding the status of Intertwined and what you may find. I take huge pride in this project and will continue to work on it until its completion in the far future. A new discord server was opened for ease of discussions regarding the game and all are welcome to join and chat.
